It's Sad that i am being mistaken hated by a family member......that makes me sad, and hope she will understand more somedays.......that i am sure not feeling good about it...

庆生的意义

A massage after the Lava..it was not too bad.....I shall do that again..

 

I brought my dad to the Lava hot springs again, today... the hot springs have been really helpful to his body pain...it makes him feel a lot better... we also got a real massage by the specialst, i hope that will speed up his healing proces. he has been working too much..his body needs a long rest and recovery.

 

it sometimes seems like days off are never long enough to get all the things done that you wanted to...

 

yeah, i had a busy day off...busy with working on someone else's matters.....phone calls, going to places....and rearrage things..and so on....

As Soon as i got out of work, went home, get ready  and had a late bday dinner for dad.. along with some relatives....my dad's bday was 2 weeks ago. since cousin Wade came in town and others wants to have a party....so they picked the 31th, the Halloween night to the dinner night...geez, great pick!! who stays home on Halloween night.....so, as soon as i could leave...I dressed up. and headed down to the bars and join the big party out there.....

Paying for the fine that are carried from the Chicago Trip.

 

       Finally, i have paid all the fines off today. the 2 Toll Fees from the Chicago highways, and the 2 parking violations that is like $175. Yes, there are toll fee charges for Chicago highway, althoguht they are like $..30 or $.60 but not everyone carry coins with them...and expeically not the tourists. however, the city of Chicago allow people to pay the fine with the 7 days...so, i went onto the web site and paid the fee.

 

      The Parking violations was much more complicated then the toll fee. i am ok with the $50 for the overstayed at the meter. however, i am not ok with the $120 fine and they so called" no city permit/ imporper display". i guess the rental car did not have the permit that the city reqired, so i got the cition for that. therefore, as i understood, i shall not pay for the fine. I have called AVIS, and talked to them, (i have called few different numbers before i got my answer)..and i guess they will take care of it..however, i will keep my finger across until they credited the $120 to my account.....

I am back to Pocatello, idaho, i am back at work, Chigcao was like a dream, I woke up....everything is normal, i am back on my own bed!!

     It was like a dream....the 5 days went fast, the first 4 days was cold, it was like average 40F. raining, windy until the last day, the sun came up, it was a lot warmer. I woke up a bit early, drove all the way back to the mall, bought more stuff, and drove all the way back. it was a bit long drive, altought it was like 30 miles drive, but it took me 3 wrong turns, and switched onto different highways. it was like an hours drive...i got back on time to pack. drove to China town, had one more yummy food then i headed to the airport, of course, it was not a plesant drive to the airport and drop off the rental car.

 

 

Sitting on the plane, on my way to Salt Lake city, then I will be on the bus from salt lake city to Pocatello.  It has been a wonderful in last 5 days Chicago trip.  I had some wonderful Chinese food that I had not had for a long time, I had met some new friends, who are cool and can always educate me in many ways. Let me see rest of the world, how other people are doing. Especially some of them are my ages, who are also Chinese, who I can relative to, and feel closer to.  I wish I can bring those new friend s back home with me, so that I won’t be feeling lonely sometimes.  

 

The wedding have tough me some lesson of how a traditional Chinese wedding is.  Most of us had no idea things can be so complicated. Even though many of us are Chinese, and grow up in Chinese families, but we have never learned about the rules of the traditional Chinese wedding.  We all found the rule of the wedding interesting, complicated, and of course, somehow unnecessary.  For example: we don’t get it, that why some can’t see do all severing tea thing at the restaurant, instead we have to pick up the girl from the girl’s parents’ house, go back to groom’s house to see his parents, then head back to bride’s parent’s house, and do the tea thing again.  Anyway, there was a lot of going back and forth, a lot of things to do.

The wedding was a great wedding.  There was a lot of food, a lot of people, a lot of fun. I had never being the best man before; I sure felt being treated special. It was nice to see Ray, and Alice and her family. I met Alice’s family 4 years ago when I was in Chicago. They all treated me nicely and made sure I was comfortable at their house.

The door game was fun. The door game is also one of the traditional game/rule in Chinese wedding. the Groom and his best man, and other  so called” brothers”, go up to the bride parent’s door and try to bring out the bride. Of course, the so call “sisters” of bride won’t let the groom gets to the bride easily without a “price” and being “suffered”.  The groom side has to pass all the tests and follow the rule that made by the bride side, until they think all the tasks have been completed. Me, John, Ray, the  groom , three of us went thru the wearing the diaper, eating hot mustard, swallowed saltine candy, jumping up and down, made a fool of ourselves in the cold weather in our suits, in the raining day, with lot of people watching us, camera and being filmed. The door game last like 30 minutes. Finally we made it into the house, passed more games and got to the bride. All of those were fun and memorable experiences.

Another memory that I cannot forget is when I was doing the Best Man Speech.  i been told that I would need to do the best man speech, I was hoping that I would not have to, and save myself from the embarrassment.  Well, an hour before the wedding, when i confirmed that I most give the speech in an hour, I took out a pen, a piece of paper and start writing up the speech. I was thinking Google the speech the night before the wedding, but I thought i did not need to do it, so I did not Google it. The good thing was thx to my fast writing skill and all the business class which required us to do a lot of presentation, plus, Berry was there, who was being very helpful. I got the speech written up quickly. So, I delivered my speech after the cake cutting in front of hundreds of people.  Well, it went pretty good…I thought…and thank god that I did not cough at all.

Being nice isn't always great.

      I thought i wass being nice to people, to employees, they would have known that. well, i guess not everyone. Danielle, a girl from work, who has called in for sickness, she asked for a night off couple hours before she had to work. but due to we were short on people for the night time crew, i had to say No and tried to ask her to come in to work. anyway, she took it  personally and in a very wrong way.....and she think i am the meanest boss she has ever met... well, big deal, welcome to the world. if she think i am a mean boss, i don't think she can live with any other managers....

    She has not called back since then, she did not show up for the following weeks either. i offered her some chances, but she blowed it...big time...she made the biggest mistakes no one has ever made under  my managemnt....i guess she quit by not call back or what so ever. i did what i could to save her, everone else is on my side...i guess if she wants me to treat her like a priceness at work....sorry Danielle, i don't think i will be able to promise u that....u work for me, u don't be to be the baby...

 

Happy birthday, Jason and Jeremy......I don't know how they are celebarting their birthday, and how their friends hosting a party for them..i bet they are having so much fun there.... Well, i did not get them anything this year...believe or not... wow, i know, i can't belive what i have done..

Yeah, the personalized plate has finally got here. we watied forever. loving the new plate for the Benz. :)

 

 

The Lexus IS is out, the BMW X3 is out. but instead, the Benz GL 450 and the Audi A5 S-Line makes better views here. :)

 

 

I have Learned a new lesson: "If your pocket is not emtpy, i am not doing my bussines right!"..

 

I was just having a BBQ, chilling at Eric Chang's house with some other friends. We talked about the businesa and talked about what are the possiblity us to create a new busienss in town.  one of the guys there, Yev, couple years younger than i am, one of the managers at the telephone company, with hundred of employees.   he seems to have a very strong business mind. From talking to him, i have learned a lot: how he is manage his place, how he motive his worker to work for him. scared of him, at the same time also respect him as their boss., and wlling to work for him.

 

Among the topics that we talked about, one of the things that he said really got me thinking: "If your pocket is not emtpy, i am not doing my bussines right!"...That is what a real busienss man should be thinking...However, am i that kind of person?! am i really just aim for people's pockets?  i am not. i have my way of doing my business by earning my customer's trust, supports. i treat them right with my heart and soul. Yes, business is business, but in the restaurant busienss, the trust relationship is very important to the business. they could feel it that you are treating them nice with your heart and they are being treated fairly. we are just aim for their pockets.
